Echinacea purpurea (eastern purple coneflower or purple coneflower) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Echinacea of the familyAsteraceae.Its cone-shaped flowering heads are usually, but not always, purple in the wild.it is a Native North American medicinal plant in the Asteraceae family. Echinacea was said to have a fiery and pungent taste. The root and the above-ground part of the plant during the flowering growth phase are used in herbal medicine.
